In July, I traveled to Japan with my associates. We had a super nice dinner in Osaka with Aoki-san from Sakai Takayuki, then traveled to Echizen to say hello with everyone there. After Echizen, we visited Sukenari in Toyama and finally drove to Sanjo to meet with Yoshikane, Hinoura and other suppliers there.

I documented the trip in a series of blogs, which is about the makers that we met, as well as some restaurants that we went to.

In the future, I will try to write more about varies of topics that is either Japan (and / or) knife related.

Hope you enjoy :)

Don’t buy a JR Pass, it is a rip off

Thanks for the write up James. I have some of those double walled sake cups (made by Asahi?) and they are nice. I’ll have to do the cost/benefit of the JR pass for the Fall, also hoping to snipe a bottle [emoji6]

@aboynamedsuita if you were to travel around Japan sniping up the whiskies, it is probably a good idea to get a JR Pass :p
