Hi.

I am selling a Konosuke Fujiyama gyuto 240mm Blue#2.
The handle is marble horn, mammoth and ebony.
It comes with saya with pin glued on it over the Konosuke logo.
- The knife has been used extensively but I always treated it very nicely.
- I have sharpened it several times but never thinned.
- The handle seem not to be planed/levelled, so when looking at the choil the blade seems bent but it is the handle.
- It shows few scratches from me using the stone powder and pad to remove patina.

The price is 1100USD plus shipping from Australia.

dimensions?
192gr
230/231mm tip to bottom of the heel
50/51mm heel height
2.5/3mm thick, however the way this wide bevel is constructed I assume the widest point is where the shinogi starts.

Classy handle. I assume it pulls the balance point back towards the choil. Where does it currently land?

Piece of Konosuke history and lore at this point. It’s a rad knife. I have no doubt a Kono fan boy will pay up. Not sure if I find it that different than the prices people are paying for Katos now days 🤷‍♂️. If you want to know more search for the Konosuke history thread. It’s a great read. GLWS

I believe USD =US Dollars, and AUD = Australian Dollars? Looks like his original post states USD. Not sure what the confusion is, perhaps it's just me that's confused.
Trying not to derail this thread again but there's been a lot of confusion so my 2 cents...

From how I see it:

> People were confused why a “standard” looking (i.e. not Togo, Dammy, but simple iron clad) Kono gyuto was asking for this much.

> See that OP is from Australia and asking USD which somewhat adds to the confusion (see point above).

For those who are unaware, IIRC this is a Morihiro sharpened Kono Blue #2 and not a Myojin sharpened Kono Blue #2. Morihiro was the original sharpener for Konosuke until he moved on to other pastures a few years back.

You are correct. No reason n to be confused.

These date back to 2019 and here is link from IG describing them. This is a rare beast and if you're a Konosukaphile is not bad value vs say what Kato's go for these days. Bonus points for losing that awful wood ferrule handle.
