I had a Shindo Santoku that I parted with. I loved the performance, just didn’t vibe with the shape.

I’m looking to get another of his knives but they're super elusive from all the retailers I've checked.

Anyone have one they want to part with?

Get the 240 if you can. I wish mine was a little heavier it was 152 g without handle, 199 g with. Seems some other folks have gotten slightly beefier ones but hot damn does this thing cut.

I was eyeing the eBay 240 too, but specs on the Enjin 240 seem better enough that it’s worth waiting for a CKTG restock IMO.

Yeah 48 is on the low end for me as a 240. Mine is 246x53. Haven't tried the SRK8 enjins but my 210 (220x52) aogami Enjin came with an oversized burnt oak handle that I popped off pretty quickly. I know oak is lighter than many other species but I imagine it's pretty large handle they put on the 240 if my 210 had a 240-sized handle. Got rid of it before I got a scale unfortunately so I can't post specs.

Shindo tangs are super long so probably why they put a larger handle on. I cut both the 220 and 240 tangs down when rehandling them.

@SwampDonkey and I were just talking about the eBay post, a few things don't quite add up:

1) no Shindo's basketball mark
2) different ku style
3) very curvy belly
Shindo has a few floating around various stores domestically without the basketball. I suppose an eBay seller could have found one of those. Totally agree on the other points though. Belly, KU, and imo both the tang forgings and the choil rounding look completely different than his normal work. Definitely not adding up.

I would wait for Shindo to come into stock or someone parting with one before paying a higher price on EBay. They do pop up on BST for good prices and are restocked at retailers like anything else. They sat on CKTG for awhile recently. FWIW I have a Yoshimitsu Kajiya from Knife Japan that shares a lot of similarities for me.
