I am selling some new, practically unused and relatively rare stones.
All stones have not been altered and all stamps are still in original condition.
Let me be transparent:
I have selected and purchased them from my trusted (10+yrs) source, evaluate them and look to sell them with a little markup but not below the price at which I purchased them.
I have owned about 6 different Maruoyamas from this source (and will continue to collect ), so I have a lot of experience with them.
Up for grabs is a Maruoyama Awasedo (Shiage = "finisher") from the Aisa layer with Nashiji.
The stamps read the following:
Top:
Maruoyama
Left:
(Shiage), Finisher
Right:
Nashiji
Aisa
I have rarely ever seen one of these before and they are different than the fabled Maruoyama Shiro Suita, even though they share a lot of qualities.
It reminds me of a Maruoyama Kiiro Suita I had years ago.
The stone is a soft and easy finisher, super clean. It feels a lot smoother and finer and only a little harder than my Maruo Shiro.
If you are looking for a fabled Maruo which will finish finer than an Uchi, this is the one.
These are fast enough to be used after 1k when used with slurry and finish very fine with just water.
Super clean, no "Su", does not grab the blade and is super simple to use.
Dimensions:
About 155 mm x 82 mm x 51 mm, weight 1,500 g (!)
Price:
300€ *last price update*
