Masakage Shimo knives are handcrafted by Yu Kurosaki, forged using White #2 steel. The Shirogami #2 is wrapped with an iron Damascus cladding—this is a carbon-steel knife (not stainless) with a very sharp edge. This knife’s blade has the original sharpening from Japan (never sharpened on a stone by me), and is essentially unused.

Very beautiful hand-hammered pattern on blade, with a thin & efficient edge taper. Minor blemish/spot on blade (shown in 3rd photo) if one looks closely, but very tiny. Wa handle is made of Magnolia wood. Knife is light and nimble, though I prefer a shorter 210mm blade (or less). Knife ships with original Masakage box & packaging.

$250
