Mazaki 240 "yakiko" older version from Togo. $175 shipped CONUS PayPal etc.
This version got positive reviews if you look way in the beginning of the Mazaki thread.
I really recommend a Mazaki to someone who has not tried it or who has not had a knife that start starts with such a thick spine and tapers nicely to the tip. I can say for any newbies, this knife has a real different feel; It feels special (at least compared to my other knives). I don't need to sell, but I'm kind of bored being home today. I really like this knife.
Mazaki 240 Shirogami white #2 Hairline Gyuto. Iron clad. White oak handle with Buffalo horn. This knife has been sharpened several times (its a pleasure to sharpen). Never thinned. Has a brownish patina. Great knife.
