Offering my beloved ~180mm Blue#2/Mild Steel Carter Funayuki to raise funds for another project. I’m selling this knife because it’s just too small for my preferences. This knife is an incredible performer! MC’s Blue 2 is a joy in use and being Gokunantetsu clad, it’s especially nice the stones. Apexes are crisp and keen. This knife takes the proverbial scary sharp edge and retains cutting performance impressively. Responds very well to touch-ups via strop IME.

I am the original owner. I have used this knife but little. As mentioned it’s too small for my preferences. I realized this within the first hour of use but held on to it and tried over several months to grow accustomed to the smaller blade. My preferences lie in the 240+ category and I often wield 270’s at work.
I put some time into polishing and thinning. Some original KU finish has been cleaned. Performance improved vastly for me once I knocked off the shoulders of the original bevel. This edge is definitely in the “sweet spot,” and the only reason I can guess these knives aren’t offered in the current bevel configuration is production time. It took a long time and some finesse to tune this edge! Despite the thinning job, edges aren’t chippy. Edge stability is on par excellence with my TF, which has been thinned the same.
Very zippy in hand. Balance point is approximately above the heel. Handle is awesome! Ipe and Micarta w/white spacer. I had a leather scabbard made by Town Culter to fit this knife. Since I now know 180mm class is not for me, I’m including the scabbard with the sale as a bonus. Website states scabbards start at $60; IIRC I paid $70.
