Up for sale is a nice thick, silky soft Uchigumori Hato from Ohira. It's a catch and release that just has too much overlap of soft, muddy Kasumi stones I have ATM. This stone will be great for a polisher that's going for a super dark Jigane and nice contrasting Kasumi. If mud is allowed to dry a bit and worked with light pressure, you can coax a finer finish out of the stone that brightens up the jigane noticeably.
The stone is loaded with pink renge and namazu. Forced slurry is velvety pink and silky smooth. You can see the cutting action happening if you look closely while sharpening. Self slurrying happens almost immediately making for a super user friendly sharpening experience.
The stone came fully chiseled on the face and back. I did a preliminary lapping session that took care of 98% of the chiseling on the face. There is still a few chisel marks on the center of the stone that just need a short lapping session to get rid of. However, they're not felt while polishing so it can be used as is if desired.
There are a couple thin lines on the surface that will likely be felt/scratch the jigane if not dug out. They're in the corner though so it will be an easy/painless task. If you're interested and have never dug out lines, just let me know and I'm happy to either walk you through it or do it myself. For this reason, the stone will be very affordable/budget-friendly.
All in all, a great, very affordable Kasumi option. Also sharpens the edge well as it has good cutting power leaving a nicley polished and toothy edge. Coming off of a mid grit synthetic or medium Grit natural will be an easy task regarding scratch removal.
