Turns out some heft is a real advantage for a pizza cutter.

Eat enough pizza and it should not be a problem amassing the needed heft. I have no difficulty being a pizza cutter.

Can't say I have ever sharpened a pizza cutter but I sharpen a round cutter that my wife uses for crafting and also round bladed head knives used in leather work. I don't use anything special, sweeping strokes with blade rotation from the wrist on bench stones.
