Beautiful sanmai construction!
What core thickness and cladding did you start the billet with?
I'm tempted, do you have any desert iron wood?
Originally the billet was 50mmX150mm, the core was 2.7mm, and the cladding a full 6mm thick on either side. The core moved so slowly compared to the cladding that by the time I was done drawing it out, the cladding had complete enveloped the core and was about 5mm wider than the core. And while the core was drawn down to a bit less than half its starting thickness, the cladding had been reduced to around 1/4 of its starting thickness and was about as thick as the core.

And I do have desert ironwood, as well as others. Stabilized amboyna, some stabilized walnut, and unstabilized leopardwood, bloodwood, bocote, and purple heart. I'm also pulling a vacuum on some maple burl as I write this which should be fully cured/stabilized in a few days.
