I heard from Joel recently, and he said he thought it was o1 ("Oh"1 not Zero1) tool steel.
It is a bespoke knife, which has not had much use. It's just a little too big and a little too heavy for me. Quite reactive, the patina you see is from a few onions and a cabbage. I can clean it off if wanted.
Sharpened a couple of times. Wickedly sharp edge.
The knife is in Sweden.
