These are the last of my full size and koppa razor/collector stones. I am leaving the knife and straight razor hobbies. Time for others to enjoy these stones in a collection or as working stones.

This is an old Japanese barber shop stone I purchased from a collector in 2015. Faded but present Maruka stamp as noted in picture. The base is solid and integral. The surface of the stone is very flat and I never have flattened it. It goes through tomo progressions with ease, had great feedback and is a fun and pretty stone. The surface is very defect free and provides solid feedback when honing a razor.

This is my favorite stone for razor honing, polishing, or just day dreaming. It has an amazing feel when you hone or sharpen on it. It is very hard, in the LV 4.5-5 area, but is smooth, creamy and gives you an edge like no other.

It was purchased from a friend and collector in Saudi Arabia in 2016, he purchased it while in Japan from a barber in Sakai. You need a tomo nagura to raise a slurry, and I have included a comparable Nakayam kiita tomo, which is nearly half the size of a full stone. Using them together keeps the stones flat with out additional flattening, if you are careful. You can always use the main stone with other tomo stones, and I love using it with the ancient boxed Koma nagura I also have for sale. Quite amazing. I have only used the stone for razor honing, but others may venture into other uses. It creates a text book shaving edge when using the Nakayama tomo, or raising a slurry with a hard Oozuku tomo, etc.

It comes with an old box that just seems fitting to always go with it.

I will miss it, it is quite a stone.

I never planned to hone on this stone, just enjoy its history. Boxed Hatahoshi Koppa, stone #625, intact stamps, maruka insert, inventory numbers, box has some tatters as noted. It's use as a collector piece or honing stone is up to the next owner.
