Bought this while ago and just recently got it ,was at my friend and handle maker Graydon DeCollibus.
I use it to cut few veggie and it s an absolute stunning cutter but unfortunately japanese knives are not interesting me anymore

Knife has an awsome handle and saya on it ,but under request I could keep the handle and let go the knife o lying with the saya

Price with handle and saya 1900 usd

How come? I'm curious what made you change your mind, especially as you have/had such an amazing collection. Is it taste, performance in a professional setting, maintenance, more customisation with local/regional smiths... Just curious.

Beautiful knife btw, congrats to the lucky new owner.

Lately I just found more interesting to use custom Western knives, they have more characters in to it ,I can ask for any mesuraments and materials i want and it s fun to chat always with the makers.
The story of an old japanese guy staying In a pit alone forging blades day and night it s just sound so ridiculous nowadays 🤣99.9 percent of japanese makers are buying prelaminate billets to speed up production the few one that are forging a billet in the house for real are charging ridiculous amount of money 🤣🤣and most of the time knives are super rough and full with over grind ,I actually find more interesting to buyold vintage japanese knives in order to restore them and generally are always cheap.

Please Don t get me wrong writing this ,I am just explaining my point of view 😊

Thank you @preizzo, appreciate your opinion. I feel the same way actually, even though I'm an amateur and only have 2.5 years of experience with Japanese knives. Wishing you lots of great knives to come ;D
