So, I decided to post some pictures, when I sharpen a new tool!
In this first post, I sharpened my first Kiridashi, ever. It was fun to go from 1K, to 12K with synthetic stones only. This Yamamoto, Blue Steel, is a pleasure to polish!
On the first three photos, you can see the rought blade... yep, it definitely needed the 1K Kensyou stone on both sides! I successfully kept the ura-geometry pratically intact, which was my goal!
On the 4th and 5th pictures, you can see the amazing pattern, in the Jigane. I love Japanese tools for these kind of "imperfection", such a beautiful tool!
