Hi! I’m new to KKF! I fell too deep into the hole, and now I have too many knives to use - hoping to clear up some drawer space.
I got this guy for 150, hoping to get[90](70$) shipped CONUS. Not the most fancy guy out there but a great performer that deserves a new home.
This was my first AS knife (SS clad) and I had a very bad first impression because it was painfully difficult to sharpen until I thinned it out. The factory migaki finish also had a few stiction issues until I put a faux kasumi on it, and I ended up burning/resanding/waxing the Ho-wood handle to match the darker color. I also took the liberty of polishing the choil/spine. I wasn’t able to get out all the vertical scratch marks on the core steel from the factory grind (see pics), but with a patina it’s not noticeable. It cuts very nicely now with a confident feel on the board but I recently got a few customs from MSicardCutlery and haven’t been reaching for this guy
