Very pitted yanagi. Good for having a very long knife lol, or just getting started with single bevels for something to mess with.

Feels like white steel. Very chalky feel when sharpening the iron. How rusty is too rusty? That's why I bought it. Very thick layer of red rust. I wanted to see how pitting would look like under that. The sharpener did a good job and the low spots were/are very shallow. Wide bevel sharpened and polished a little. Ura makes contact. Edge is straight. Very little ura wobble (edge and spine side of ura are on slightly different planes) but it's there. Rust eraser marks. Pitting everywhereeeeee. Pitting on ura will lead to edge chips throughout the life of the knife. Made in Sakai. I sharpened the edge and it catches hair like regular Sakai white. Maybe on the slightly sharper and easy to polish side of Sakai white. No handle
