Not in a hurry but yanicks and bazes are what I'm mostly after. I'm also going to be restocking my low grit sharpening stones as it's desperately needed and been put off for a very long time .

that leads me to this - Been contemplating a real sales thread for this for a while but here it is.

I've had a few ashi honyaki but this was my first and the hardest to part with. This is the knife that made me love knives and also sent me down the rabbit hole of polishing.

Speaking of polishing, I completely reshaped this knife by hand on stones and the geometry is near perfect for doing a full stone polish but isn't quite there.



This knife also has the best banding I've ever seen on any honyaki and on any ashi period.



Of course you can ask for more pics etc but everything is pretty much documented on my Instagram.

Not going to argue with you there and I've seen pics of some spectacular Ashi Honyaki.

Compared to some recent unicorn offerings, your ask of $5K is IMHO underpricing it.

I would say GLWS but you don't need it for this Heirloom-quality piece.

Lol, my first time was a very long time ago and I was terrified - these days not much phases me but I've also destroyed a few knives learning and kind of know what to expect 🤣

This thing sharpens like butter - it's so quick to take a screaming edge and touches up so quickly!

After trying the passaround ashi honyaki….. I am ashamed to admit I have entertained the idea of taking out a loan for this… but I don’t think I can quite do that rn… what an absolutely beautiful knife. And at 300mm? I’d love to do some heavy prep with this. The performance of these knives is truly spectacular.

Lowering sale/trade value to 4500k usd.

During my posting from Ontario to British Columbia with the Airforce the moving company fked up my rocket r60v beyond repair - the inspector recommended total replacement after showing the damage to multiple espresso repair facilities.

Long story short it's a $6100 machine but the moving company won't take full responsibility for the damage and are only offering a depreciated value of $2700 to replace the machine - so whoever buys this knife will be helping me immensely!
