Hey guys, this was a fun project for me, but I need to drum up some holiday cash. This was originally purchased from Zahocho here: Goh Umanosuke Yoshihiro x Yoshikazu Tanaka AS gyuto 240mm

Original MSRP was $693, take it with the Jnat polish and rosewood handle for $650. CONUS shipping included, discounts available for fee-less payment methods.

The most insane banding I have seen this side of a metal flow. Please watch the video to see condition. I am more of a beginner at polishing, so there are scratches and marks from my work, but overall I think it looks fantastic....just don't have the expectations of this being done by a master. The stock finish was kinda meh, so I took it down all the way bare with sandpaper and worked my way up from synthetic stones to 3-4 jnats and then finished with some uchi powder, and barkeepers friend/lemon juice for a light etch to highlight banding

Been sharpened once after the polishing and has not been used since. Please note, you can feel a gap between the spacer and wood in the handle, could probably be sanded down a bit without much issue, or just leave as is.

Size is approximately 230mm edge by 53mm height.

Hey guys update to this. I liked the kasumi on this a lot, but I still felt it was a little bit "streaky", so I spent a few hours trying to improve it, and I think I did a nice job if I do say so myself, hope you guys agree. Price is still the same, 525 shipped for a 240mm tanaka super with a jnat polish...

Also attaching a video, and some close ups of areas I don't love. Please remember like stated in the initial post, I am still learning and there are hairline scratches from sanding/polishing in places if you catch the light right. The closeups I am attaching are at the worst angle with harsh lighting. The next user could polish out the core pretty easily if they wish....or if it's a deal breaker, I can spend time trying to work these out at the buyers request. Just not worth it to me at the moment, especially if I keep it. I have a lot of projects to get to.

Remember this is close to $200 off asking with a rosewood handle vs ho as well.

Not gonna drop it a cent more. AS from Tanaka is a rarer bird, getting that with a nice polish and upgraded handle is a pretty sweet deal I think
It’s actually a hell of a deal. If I didn’t cap myself on buying more knives then I would’ve hopped on this deal. GLWS and hope someone here snag this piece.

That’s a killer deal, if I had the cash I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Are you looking for any trades, or do you only need cash atm?

Much prefer cash, but I'd consider a cheaper nice knife plus a few hundred bucks. Depends. Trade value would be higher, more like 600.
