Yu Kurosaki Houou “Phoenix” VG10 santoku

Bought this for my wife to entice her away from her Wusthof but no luck. She used it once or twice to cut some fruit, but seems to have settled on using a petty for everything. Still on the original edge, still sharp, never sharpened although probably stropped because I tend to do that. I love looking at this guy on the board, but need to make room for incoming knives.
“Houou” is Japanese for Phoenix, named for the colors in the blade. The Houou series was a pretty small run judging by how quickly they sold out everywhere and they’ve been out of stock ever since I nabbed this specimen last year. If you love the rainbow damascus from Saji but prefer lasers, this is your jam. I haven’t tried this santoku myself but I had a Kurosaki gyuto that cut like a laser and expect this guy to be the same.
