As I was cruising looking to see the latest and greatest of Yu Kurosaki's knives, I noticed that there is now a subtle curve of the spine near the handle (in this case it was a 165 mm nakiri VG XEOS santoku). Does anyone here have any experience with this new design? Is there any noticeable change in performance/feel?? Thanks, Ken K

My 240mm senko has it and my 210 fujin does not. No difference in feel in my experience.

I think the Senko-Ei line has that. Maybe @Tekkz knife is a Senko-EI, too, or I am mistaken?

Anyhow, it is a thing. Here is two Senko-Ei Petty I bought a while ago.

For the petty, I love this, because it means more board clearance. Very practical.

Thanks, Tekks and miggus. That is reassuring. I have only one Kurosaki knife (a gyuto), which I LOVE===light, sharp(!) and holds an edge like a champ and I am looking for an excuse to by 1-2 more...
