He‘s japanese_knifeshaper on insta, suishin‘s go to mirror polish and honyaki guy. The whole order went via suishin.

Yeah the point of the project was for it to be somewhat unfinished and for the end users to polish it up, that's why it's way cheaper than a standard togashi blue 1 honyaki

sounds cool. what is “winter honyaki”?

winter quenching, the water would be cooler in winter so the steel hardness might be higher. On the other hand, the successful rate might decrease because the temperature difference is bigger.
