A few unicorns have recently come my way, and I'm having to make some very difficult decisions about what to let go to fund them...
I recently re-fitted the knife with a custom rosewood and horn handle which brings the balance point back to a point that is still slightly blade forward, but to a degree I personally really enjoy.
I should note that the heat from the burn-in has affected the consistency of the plane and transition between the handle and the ferrule so that whilst the spine is parallel and true to the wood part of the handle, the ferrule looks slightly out of whack as if it's veering slightly to the left. This is not noticeable in use but obviously worth mentioning from an aesthetic perspective - the 6th image in the album shows this best. I will include the original ho wood handle if desired.
It has been used literally twice for minor dinner prep, never sharpened (but could probably do with one as the ootb edge isn't incredible), never stropped.
Price:
£1,300 + shipping - this reflects the original price I paid for the knife + custom handle.
Because I have little business sense, I'll also consider part-trades/trades for Yanick, Milan, Shi Han etc.
Specs:
- 225g
- 52mm heel height
- 248mm edge length
