I grabbed this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002ZGY8XM

I wanted something small and long for a 1 user cheese board +to cut fruits/etc... I have a longer one but it's more for 2-3 people... I don't care about the knife..

So I washed it in hot soapy water, dried it out and then applied generous coating of mineral oil. 6 hours later, not even 1% got absorbed. Only thingI can think of is there is some kinda waterproof finish over it, because when I washed it even, I could see water just slide off it... I guess i shouldn't try to sand it off.... LOL

not planning to use any 'real' knives on it. but it's pretty enough to serve fruit/etc... ill prep on a normal board...
That will do. Just a quick wipe with mineral oil! I would not be concerned much about absorption! As long as its being taken care of. I guess Acacia & Teak are in high content % of Silica (sand) from their soil (hidrophobic), so they tent not to be that soft and absorable. Silica is one of the main reasons that will dull the knives.
