i need a good advice on my kitchen knifes, They are old ones and i'm trying to change them to the latest one any advice on it?? Thanks...

They being old is hardly an issue. Neglect can easily be repaired. Most neglected or poorly sharpened knives perform badly because of thickening behind the edge. You may consider sending them out for getting them in shape again.
