Someone knows more precisely how crappy that knife is bound to be?

Found that in an old toolbox. Was surprised to find Japan mentionned there at all, it looks all too very european/american to use anything other than the usual Krupp or else.

Northcraft was a brand name used by a US Importer in the 70s and early 80s. I don't have any info on them but they imported a lot of kitchen knives, steak knives and flatware from Japan, and also some from South Korea. Design wise they bear a similarity to the imports sold under the MAXAM brand around the same time period. As for steel I would guess Aus6 at best and 420j2 at worst. But that's just a guess. Could be anything really, coming from a time period when outdoor knives were marked "surgical steel".
