I have the 1200 and it's brutally fast. I like it a lot, but I'd love to know how does it differ from the 1000 sibling?

The 1000 is a lot more aggressive at the cost of dishing faster. So you need to lap the 1000 more often than the 1200.

I love both stones and agree the 1200 is fast but the 1000 is much faster. I also heard from the company that the 1200 may not be produced anymore.

Thanks osakajoe.
Just wanted to know if I'd be missing something compared to the 1000, but the 1200 is plenty fast enough. Sounds to me that the 1200 is more my thing over all.

Chinacats the 1200 has two personalities (same with the 3000). They need to be soaked well, but they don't hold water very well. If you keep the surface wet it feels "medium" smooth (better then King 1000) and won't dish too much. Let the surface loose water and it starts to dish and you get a nice slurry going, but it'll feel slightly more coarse too.

Osakajoe would you agree about the 1200 or what's your experience with it?
