Jut got the knife in! The packaging is a little beat up, but the knife looks like it's in pretty good condition. The case has a tear and the zipper is broken and the knife doesn't really fit. I'm going to ship it back out in a newer, bigger proper fitting padded case. A few scratches near the handle but everything looks in good shape. I know the handle was changed at some point, but was not affixed? It looks to be held on with just beeswax. I'll get to using it tonight and this weekend and report back!

Take-in condition May 25, 2023

I'll put it in a new padded case and ship it in a new box. I think it's the least I can do after causing everyone a scare! I might just fit it with a saya too, I have to see if I have one that fits.
I appreciate that. Sorry for freaking out a little bit about it, but it's a little worrying to hear when your 6-700 dollar knife is in limbo. Thanks for the follow ups. Hope you enjoy getting to check it out

I'll be sure to mess it all up once I get my hands on it. Its the least I could do for my boy jedy617

Nah no problem, it was totally my fault for not responding, and I get it, I'd be pretty upset too if someone just had the knife and didn't say anything! I got to use it once so far, but I'll give a full review once I ship it out!

Hi All! I am ready to write this review. Sorry for the crazy ride so I'll keep it short and sweet. Everyone had great reviews before and seemed to cover the ins and outs of the knife nicely. I just wanted to thank @jedy617 for giving me the chance and everyone involved to make it happen, thanks a lot!!

My first impression of the knife is that it's stately and clean my kind of knife! It felt good in the hands even though it was a different handle. Felt like a nice workhorse in terms of weight and forward balance. Rounded and polished fit and finish as expected of a knife maker of this caliber.

Cutting food: I don't typically use many 240's but the extra length was appreciated. The height at the heel too was a nice bonus too. I really enjoyed using this knife. It felt easy to use and because of the spine thickness, it didn't feel brittle or like I had to baby it too much. The convexity had decent food release and it was thin behind the edge so it breezed through most veg. I can't say anything too bad about the way it cuts, it feels standard (in a good way) for a knife at this price point.

Apex Ultra: I've had the pleasure of using an apex ultra knife before so I'm familiar with the steel. I quite like it. It holds an edge and takes a keen polish in my experience, it's always hard to tell sometimes with a knife this thin. I do enjoy sharpening it as it feels like sharpening something somewhere in between white 2 and blue 1.

Overall Conclusions: I'm a fan of the knife. If money wasn't a question, I think something like this would make it into my everyday rotation and probably end up being a daily driver. It's not a cheap knife and it does make me wonder if the performance is worth it, but that's always the case with any custom, right? Any who, amazing knife maker, great pass around, and I'm just happy to be here :D

Thanks again guys, probably against better judgement, for letting me in on it. I think to redeem myself, I'll have to do a pass around of my own.
