Hi Guys

I have a Mac Ceramic Honing Rod and was take it back and fourth with me to work in my knife bag and i am always worried about cracking it and was wondering if there is any solutions you guys have found that protect it.

I had one in culinary school that i dropped two weeks after i bought it and it was reduced to half its size.

I keep it in its box for now but it's beat up after and falling apart already and cant really keep the box on my station when working.

It wont crack. It has a metal core.

Jon at jki sells the large padded zip case. I keep my mac ceramic rod in there for protection from others tools in knife bag

I've had mine in my kit for 5 years now. It doesn't break.

Are your mac rods still smooth or can you feel nicks on the smooth side? I have a bunch of knicks in mine, and I can feel them when I go over them with my knife. I blame them on coworkers who borrow it and clang away at it. But I also blame coworkers for all the stuff I misplace so could be anything...
