I dont mean to be... well... mean!? But why CBN? As I understand it, they don't offer any advantages over diamond abrasives for bench stones. Their primary advantage is high heat tolerance - temperatures where diamonds would normally break down. This is useful in industrial and powered applications but does not really apply to water stones.

Just curious... if you know exactly why you are looking for CBN stones, this could be an opportunity for me to learn something new. If not, you might find more diamond stone options?

I am in the same boat. CBN should be no maintenance, like diamond plates. Feel and and lifetime might be similar. Others reported feel and feedback are not the best, on both.

From what I understand they are less prone to "break" the cutting points like diamond and they have more points, so should be even quicker while making less deep scratches. This is one of the explanations that seems plausable :)

Ahh Stumpy Nubs! Good channel! Nice videos.

Yes; true! I have read similar things about using too much pressure with diamonds. I havent experienced this with atoma plates... but I only use them for flattening stones. And I only apply a little bit of downward pressure.

I am quite interested in a 400 grit Triple B vitrified diamond stone. They are super expensive and almost always sold out. Since the surface renews slowly breaking the diamonds is less of an issue. Also... dont apply large pressure!! Venev stones are another contender. They are Russian made so I dont know if the Russia-Ukraine war has affected supply??

For CBN in Europe... I have no idea if these are any good. Might be accessible though?

I have seen them, they are so small! Not wide enough and the proper sized ones are very expensive. 400€ for 200x70. But maybe that's just the price of cbn.
