$150 shipped
1450g
197mm x 65mm wide x 53mm tall
Around 3000 grit
Ultra smooth and creamy for any stone I've used, really. It's a porous stone but the grit breaks down so fast and smooth, like free clay. It's not a soft stone at all though, which is unique, so let's say medium hard. Water management is crucial to whether it burnished or cuts fast, or doesn't cut, at which point a diamond plate could be helpful, if you don't like to build up the slurry. But once that happens, water management isn't so important anymore since the slurry and cutting speed become self sustaining, since it's a friable stone. It's friable in such a unique way . . . It needs slurry and then it's friable, but otherwise it can burnish. Very cool.
I think it's a Yamagata kazama stone. Creamiest midgrit I've ever used. Very velvet feel. Almost like a great aizu but lower grit and much more friable and easy to use, at least to me. Any inclusions or lines or pick marks I can't feel at all. Again, the stone feel is very very very nice, and reminds me of the hand sawn kiita I used to own.
Selling because I practically still use synths in this range.
