I also bought one of these Sabs from Nick. The build quality is some of the best I’ve ever felt, amazing integral bolster and crazy distal taper. A perfect board/counter knife for odds and ends. Apparently the blanks are pre-WW2 drop forged and then were hidden in unmarked warehouses to prevent govt war appropriation. Passage of time and transfer of ownership meant these weren’t found until many years later.
