Up for sale is my Jerry Stark custom razor. The blade is finished in grey and differentially hardened giving it a beautiful hamon line. I picked a piece of beautiful koa for the scales. The overall aesthetic is a nod to J-knives. I ordered this razor days before Jerry announced his retirement from making razors and it arrived marked as his 660th custom. I had the razor traditionally peened which I find more functional and aesthetically pleasing than the torx system Jerry typically used. The steel is W2 which I find similar to White # 2. It is easy to sharpen and maintain and if it is your thing, you can put a scary sharp edge on it that seems to stay on there forever. Heat treat seems to be spot on. The razor is nicely balanced and a great shaver overall. The craftsmanship is flawless.
Condition-wise the razor appears as it did when it first arrived and has been through one full honing progression plus a touch up or two.
A serious case of razor acquisition syndrome is the reason for the sale. I'm way overdue for a herd thinning. Too many razors, too little time.
Most experienced straight users prefer their own edge, but I can hone this razor on a choice of synthetic or natural stones as per the buyer’s preference. The razor will ship fully sterilized and ready for use.
