Hawaii opened to tourism & a flood of people have arrived. I see it as pent up
staying home covid shutdown relief.

My brother is here now we have been hiking. Coco Head rail tram. Almost straight up. I knew to bring plenty water & good shoes. It is harder than it looks
Of coarse I'm older too, a 19 year old sailor was injured in a fall day after we were up there.

Dragons Breath is a special place a rocky shelf off Makapuu cliffs. I my have hiked down to it 6 times in decades.
Have never seen so many people down there. It was good to see them having a great time.

Looks like you gents had a good time!

I need to get to Hawaii one day

That's a lot of people at the tide pools (the photos don't fully capture how inhospitable of a hike it is). I'm sure a lot of folks are relieved the dollars are flowing again. Hope the trades keep blowing this summer 🤙

Yeh hiking the switchback down to the dragons breath shelf you have to pay attention to where you place your feet. It's not too bad. The blow holes were not firing today, have to have a swell
& high tide.

The Coco Head tram made me feel my age 71.
I just took rest breaks & brought plenty of water
Coming down is tricky too. The guy who took our picture was the only one in his group to make it to the top.

When went to dragons breath with my brother
was beautiful day lots of tourist in tide pools.

Asked my friend Ito if he had ever been down there. He had not so we went. Reason wanted to go again was because we have a south

swell going on with a east wrap. Knew when tide coming in. It's a whole different feeling.
The sounds of waves hitting shelf pouring into tide pools. The sound of air and water sucking through under rock channels to send water up through dragons nostrils. You can see darker areas where waves reach in the shelf. Tell the tourist to stay off wet areas might get swept
off it does happen.
