Hello, checking in. Question about polished flats

Hello, new member here and interested in learning lots about Japanese Knives.

I'm looking to buy a Sakai Kikumori CHOYO White. I can see from photos the Hira/Tsura/Flat is a mirror polish. Is that prone to scratching? I'd like to buy it but I'm worried about it being a sore thumb if its get scratched. Anyone have any experiences?

mirror polish is not that frustrating. A dremel and polishing pastes would do.
