Hey there, I have a random question: Ex-professional cook from the US (now living in Europe), wanting to restock my kitchen with decent tools (pots/pans/tongs/sieves/etc..). My friend who opened a café gave me a Hendi catalog, and they look a bit like Sysco/Vollrath in the US. Does anyone have experience with this stuff? Is it worthwhile to stock my new kitchen with it, or should I buy other things?

I'm not looking for super fancy, just good build quality equipment that is robust and works well...

Thanks!

Given the amount of this brand Hanos sells to restaurants it should be OK, what little I have used was OK-ish, no clue about longevity though since a pro kitchen is much harder on gear than home use.

Perhaps best visit a store/wholesale place tailored for pro kitchen and have a chat, those usually have staff with a relevant background

I'd describe it as... 'servicable'. Most of the stuff will do the job it's supposed to do, but none of it really performs stellar. The pans are pretty much all disc bottom versions. It's cheap but not great... though there's plenty of items for which it makes no difference.
