I found this forum while looking for info on a knife set I recently acquired. I have a pretty decent collection of Henckel knives and have a real nice carving set that the wife got me that I use for special occasions. I am not a professional chef by any means, but I do appreciate using finer tools.
What got me searching was that I got a set via a silent auction at our Lions District Conference that seems to be real nice quality. I personally have never owned knives this heavy. The top notch workmanship seems fairly obvious. Thing is, I can't find any info on them. They came in a metal briefcase with locks and have carved in the blade "Speigel Und Sohne" then under that "Seit 1884" with still on the blade near the hilt "Rostfrei"
Any chance someone can let know know where to find some info on these. I'd be very grateful
