Canada, eh?
I had this up earlier as part of bundle, now offered for individual sale. Knife is untouched since I last posted it up, so using the same pics and description

$800 $525 CAD shipped Canada/ConUS (including Paypal G&S). Canadians we can discuss payment methods as well as pick-up if you're in the GTA.

219x49, 167g.

Important point 1 - note the length. This is slightly short even for a Sakai 240. I didn't realize that until a month after I bought it and measured it. In hindsight, the pricing was a bit lower than most 240s for the line, so I should've guessed something was up.

Important point 2 - It is my opinion that this is ground left biased (you can see this on the choil shot). That said, this had a very right hand ground choil, to the point that it was sharp against the hand in a left handed pinch. I softened that using a dremel and a sanding drum, but it is still pretty right biased on the choil.

Been touched up a few times in the near year that I've had this knife. Might have had a few strokes on a 1K at one point, but mostly 3K+. There is a scratch on the left side of the knife where it had slipped against the stone in one session (best pic I can grab at the moment is below).

Very nice knife, used on and off for the year that I've had it, but just has really gelled with me like some others so it's going to move on.

The scratch on the left side - that mark goes up in the damascus, but I can't catch the entire thing in the light I've got right now. You can see it if you look closely (at least on the monitor I'm on right now shows it up)

Yea it’s crazy that any other Takada with the stamp will go instantly but a gorgeous damascus made by the same smith/sharpener at this price sits so long. Is the lefty grind very noticeable with use?

The knife is pretty lefty biased. I’ll try and get pics tomorrow of the blade faces with a business card against them. IMO, with a straight edge against the blade, the left side has typical Takada convexing while the right side is nearly flat ground.

As promised, shots of the blade face with a card against them.

These aren't the best shots but do show the differences. I'd have liked more of a shot with more backlight, but between trying to clamp the blade, hold the phone and hold the card this was the best lighting/shot I can get at the moment considering I'm supposed to be working.

Left cutting face. you can see the convex but what it doesn't show is that it subtly curves thinner as it gets to the spine.

And the right side, showing as I said almost a flat grind:

These were taken about 10mm from the heel, and the blade carries the same geometry along way towards the tip (where it gets flatter).

Bump.

I gotta say I've been surprised by the lack of interest in the one. Guess it's just not clicking for the lefty crew. Not really planning any further price drops - this is a "would be nice to sell knife", not a "gotta sell this knife" - unless something similar drops in my lap.

Think I'm going to pull it out of the box and give it another spin. So if you're interested let me know and I'll provide up to the minute pics of the condition.

Ok, It's clear that I don't have a clue what is moving on the BST anymore. A month for a Yohei/Takada is mind-blowing to me.

Since the pictures above were taken, I've touched it up on a SG3K + 1u diamond strop and done two meal preps. Condition is as pictured, but if someone wants updated, let me know.

It may just be the January "blahs" but probably also to do with some health stuff I'm dealing with, but I just don't have the headspace to keep on bumping this at the moment. So since I'm going to the post office to mail the Tetsujin nakiri, going to shake this tree harder.

$525CAD (~$400USD) all in shipped Canada/ConUS.
