This is a mid grit stone from JNS. Maxim describes it at 1-2k finish which seems accurate. Leaves aggressive toothy edges. It feels a lot like an aizu in use. It doesn't produce a lot of mud but still feels easy to use. Huge extra wide usable surface.

The stone is normally sold as a giant unfinished brick. I sawed it in half and flattened/lapped all the sides. I still use the other half. Both faces are usable, one is smaller than the other because I didn't want to waste a bunch of the stone just to flatten it to a perfect rectangle. (the stone stands 28mm tall from face to face, but if you want to grind down perfectly, it will be 23mm). The stone sits stable on either side.
