It's pretty clear now that the most important steps to take for limiting the spread of coronavirus are distancing, mask wearing, and hand hygiene (arguably in that order). I wanted to add in a simple, cheap thing that seems really promising particularly for people at higher risk. Making sure your vitamin D levels are sufficient has real promise. I am not typically very swayed by vitamin salesmen as it often seems like a lot of pseudoscience. But vitamin D in the context of upper respiratory infections seems important, and there's now some real evidence specifically for COVID-19. Vitamin D is cheap and readily available. I'd recommend taking a look into it, my family now takes it daily. Of course, it's not nearly as important as the things listed above (social distancing, masks, and hand hygiene). But it seems like it has a role. Here's one source describing it's promise:
