I should have said; my sujihiki is not a Kato! I was referring to the general style. You are right. It would be in theme for a Kato-workhorse suji to be thicker than average... Referencing back to JNS, a spine width of
3.7mm is a better reference. I didn't see 5mm though?

I am sure it will be a very good suji Kato

You got me thinking philosophically. What makes a Kato a Kato? As in the Ship of Theseus or
grandfather's axe
