Hi, I’d like to re-home my Masakane old-stock petty to make some room in the knife drawer. These knives are well-documented and well-known commodities; there is not really any mystery here. It’s a really good knife for fruits and it is great for tasks needing a very slender pointed tip. The SK steel takes an immediate patina, but does not appear to readily oxidize further. With the thinness and low height, I find the slight convexity of the grind works well for this type of knife. It’s a good overall design philosophy and a non-flashy package.
I have used this some, but does not yet need sharpening. It bares some patina as shown, but otherwise is as purchased. This will come in it’s original box and still has the free first sharpening card from Bernal (maybe useful if you are sending a couple of knives in for work or are in the Bay Area). Bernal is currently offline for annual inventory - I’ll update the website when they are back- but here is a posting for the same knife from Strata for detailed specs (which my knife conform to).
