Best masakane I've used in steel and grind and cutting feel. Hardest masakane I've used. The steel almost feels like Ashi white ... But harder almost. Hard to say. Less buttery. Feels really great in initial cut, and through produce. Doesn't have that whippy feel with thinner, slightly newer era masakane. Beautiful convex grind with decently high polish. Handle gaps. Chip at very heel. Straightened as much as I could by eye, and it's pretty straight. Came to me with a thick coat of polymerized oil, almost wax. Took off most of it
