Bought this originally from a-frames. As far as I know mazaki only made a handful of this style specially for a-frames tesshu series. Mr. Higgins has it for a year or so, used not abused. Bought it back recently and thinned refinished and sharpened, it’s razor sharp with a good enough working finish. Currently fitted with a well ‘loved’ red lacquer handle, i think it suits the knife quite well.

entertaining trades for anything not iron clad. Trade value $150.

247mm edge
53mm heel

That was a really fun knife to own (although it had a different handle on it when I owned it). I've owned 6 or 7 Mazakis and that one was my second favorite (I still own my favorite but sold off the rest).

Curious to hear which one is #1

I have just recently jumped on the mazaki wagon and am really enjoying my 240 from jns that I picked up recently on bst. Also have 180 petty coming my way

I don't want to derail this thread, but my favorite was from JNS. It was the one that was claimed to be "charcoal forged".

This k-tip was a close second because it has subtle forged hollow above the grind that really helped with food release. This one would complement your other Mazaki because it has a really flat profile. If you're riding the Mazaki Train, you might want to pick this one up!

You're the only other person I've seen with this knife. Heat treat is great and once thinned it's one of the best performers especially in its price range.
