I made a little bit of stainless san mai recently and this is the first of those blades. I must admit I cut it really close with the cladding on this one, but the HT is good and the edge passes a deflection test, so everything should be just fine.

  • Blade: 190mmx53mm 320grit hand finished Wolfram Special (65hrc) stainless san-mai w/ nickel layer to prevent carbon migration
  • Neck: 19mmx18mm
  • Handle: Oil finished birdseye maple and walnut
  • POB: 37mm back from the end of the handle
  • Spine: 3.2mm at the neck, 2.4mm at halfway, 1.15mm 1cm from the tip
  • Grind: right hand bias, heavy convex
  • Weight: 151g
  • Relieved choil and spine
  • Edge: .15mm@1mm, .28mm@2mm, .51mm @5mm, .85mm @10mm Measured at the midpoint.
