Hello All,
Here I have a heavier sujihiki for your pleasure. Very stiff and thick spined, but still barely nail-flexing. I got a curious double hamon effect on this one, and took it to a higher grit finish than usual. Interestingly, even though this is a water quenched blade that hamon has more of an appearance that I would expect from an oil quenched blade. I'm listing this one without a handle, so the prospective buyer can have their choice of materials and styles, or purchase it in lieu of one altogether if they have their own in mind.
Sadly it seems that the grain size in 2k rhynowet is somewhat uneven, so mixed in with a very fine 2k finish appears to be a bunch of 1500ish grit scratches, and that leads to an enormous amount of difficulty as far as photographs are concerned, since all of the fine scratches were highlighted. For that reason I've decided to forgo stills of the blade faces and just opt for video on this one. I think from here on out I'll stop at 1200 grit on my honyaki. The finish is better suited to taking pictures and the food release will be better on top of that.
Asking $550 U.S ($762 CAD)+ $28 U.S shipping. As always, if this blade is purchased in conjunction with another I will happily deduct $28 off of the price of the other blade.
Thanks for looking!
-Matt
