I’m not sure if there’s a thread or discussion on these 2 stones side by side but I am curious how they compare for edge sharpening and polishing.
Already a huge fan of all cerax/new cerax stones I’ve tried so far…is Ouka superior in anyway at all?
Thanks

There have been multiple discussions in the past.

They are the same. Suehiro tells so.

Different branding, different market

How does cerax 1k compare to cerax 1k(blue) from their combo stone line up?
Idk how the regular 1k compares to it, but I HATED the blue version of the 1k. I had the 1k/6k combo stone.

Ok, hated is strong, but I've never seen a 1k stone dish so fast. The only use I could think for it would maybe be bevel polishing, and if so you had better just be using it for a small jump in grit. I actually really liked the 6k side though.

Hopefully the 1ks the sell by themselves are different. If not, buy a king instead.

I have the cerax 1k 3k combo. The blue side doesn’t clog at all for me. I sharpened like 6 knives in my kit back to back without any reason to redress the stone. Maybe it wears very quickly but it’s a $37 combo so I don’t mind. Personally I’d take high cutting speed w good feedback that wears fast on a stone over a clogger any day of the week.
