Thick knives save lives
80$ Shipped Conus
Old stock 230mm takobiki, stamp appears to be 鈴清作 (Suzusei?). Knife is old stock, and comes with a box, which many older knives don't. The iron on this one abrades very quickly, and it's easy to get a nice misty finish. There is no stamp for steel but it feels like white, and it takes a nice edge easily. Finish is hand-sanded to 1500 grit. Has some pitting on the ura side which lead to some microchipping which prevent it from having a perfectly clean edge, but I'm not sure whether it'll be noticeable in use or not as I haven't cut anything with it. Shinogi also isn't straight, most likely due to previous owner sharpening with a bend in the blade (which I have taken out). I spent some time trying to even out the shinogi but stopped because I didn't want to overly thin the already very thin knife. Spine isn't perfectly flat, an indication that the knife was forged to shape. As always questions/pic requests are welcome, thanks for looking.
Specs:
231mm long
103g
20mm tall
3.25mm spine
