Hello,
I just bought the JNS 6k from milan and tried it the other day. I dried it with a towel and then left it on its side. Nowhere near heater or sun. And earlier tonight i just that there were some cracks. I hope it shows in the pictures as I put some water on it and it shows less now. The cracks go from one side to the other through the "spine". There are 2 like that. Is the stone ruined or can i repair it?
How can i avoid that? I read to dry it with a towel around it?

Thanks in advance for your help!
Cheers

not sure how that happen but some stones are more sensitive if dried fast... some resinoid stones for instance (don't know if that's the case.

anyway if you are worried it might fully crack you can glue it to a base (like the glass from a worn Shapton Glass or a piece of wood, metal, etc, and lacquer the sides. should still perform well.

I see thanks!
Do you have any tips on how to let it dry slower? Does the method by covering with a towel work?

no worries!

letting it dry wrapped in a damp towel, away from direct sun, usually works well for the "sensitive stones".

but honestly this seems odd... I had that same stone and always just left it in the dishrack to dry. never had any issues. maybe it got damaged or heated during transport?

Alright thanks :)
I didn't see any problem with it when I used it at first, but I guess it could have been damaged inside. Anyway, I'll look at some thread on how to seal a stone and then come back if I have any follow up questions :)
