Mixed emotions on selling or trading this. It's a really nice version of the "mid-older" Takeda AS knives. I bought it from here: https://www.kitchenknifeforums.com/threads/takeda-as-250mm-w-district-cutlery-regrind-475.72214/
I have since put it this the stones to flatten out the low spots from the District regrind, brought the bevels up higher, and it's ready now for a suita or similar finishing polish. I stopped the progression at my Aizu on the bevels (400, 800, 1000, 1500, Aizu), so that is where it stands now. It's ready to rock as-is, or more polishing if someone wants it, and no more low spots or anything annoying. Very, very nice AS steel, crisp, and smooth cutting with good food release still.
I'm selling because I was hoping this was a slightly thicker, older version. It's not - I'd call this somewhere in the middle of the Takeda progression - meaning, he went in the early days with slightly thicker at the spine knives, then moved to this version which is thin and pretty much the same thickness from spine to edge (but not the huge crazy thin s-grind) then he moved to the current iteration of thin, hollow-forged, and very low bevel knives.
In terms of a trade, I'd love to trade for an older Takeda gyuto (condition irrelevant so long as it's not truly abused), Takada No Hamono Reika model or a TnH sujihiki, or maybe a nakiri, and depending on model happy to pay up or take cash back.
For a sale, I'm asking $550 CONUS, $600 Int'l.
