Bought it from sharp knife shop for $856.
Asking for $600 shipped. These go for $1400+ on TF direct.

Sharpened once on cerax 700 and morihei 6000 and used it for one day at the sushi bar.

Selling it because it’s a very light yanagiba. I have a preference for heavier ones. It’s a solid yanagi. Gets very sharp and holds the edge for a long time.

One full day at the sushi restaurant. After having sharpened it out of the box.
 
I believed they were hacked at some point and the account started posting WTS threads with knives they had already sold at even lower prices asking for PayPal F&F.
 
Arrived pretty much as advertised. Ignore the label, I need to reprint it. The edge is 300mm. Cosmetics could be better but nothing I can’t fix. Haven’t actually used the knife yet, I just went through a half dozen slabs of salmon sashimi but used a humbler yanagiba. Will clean this one up and feed it some fish in a few weeks.

Spent an hour on the kireha with Arashiyama 1000 then Ohira Tomae. Got a nice haze on the core steel but I have no idea what I’m doing with the cladding. I made the shinogi worse.

The ura got some tough love with 400 grit sandpaper sponge. Edge microbeveled with SG16K. The "patina" stains from wet use are still there.

The steel smells like salmon sashimi… or does salmon sashimi smell like aogami super? 🤔

Anyway, I’m going to need a better camera and lighting.
